Wizkid On His Upcoming Album “Morayo” It’s Very Personal

It is Very Personal - Wizkid Describes Upcoming Record

Nigerian artiste, Wizkid has described his soon-to-be-released music in a new interview. The artist described the record as “very personal” and further established that he hopes his new music “lifts spirits and spreads positive energy”. Recall that Wizkid teased his upcoming album, “Morayo,” a few months ago. It appears music enthusiasts should expect the lead single soon.

In the interview, Wizkid also discussed his fashion style, fatherhood, and the expected collaborations on the album.

In The Interview Wizkid Said:

“I’m trying to raise champions,” Wiz remarks about his children. “I instil that into their minds that God has put them here on purpose.”

And with his upcoming album, he pays the utmost respect to his mother. “I’ve named it my mum’s name,” he says – his mother’s name being ‘Morayo’, a Yoruba word that means ‘I see joy’.

“It’s very important for people to know where the source of my magic comes from. I’m African, I’m Nigerian; that’s my blood, that’s my DNA. So, it’s important for me to push [Yoruba] out there – let people know about my culture. I like to know about everyone else’s culture, their way of life, and this is mine.”

With this interview, it appears Wizkid has started his press run for his new album. The artiste, who caused a ruckus on X after posting a derogatory video of fellow artiste Davido and called Don Jazzy an influencer, seems to be taking a positive approach to his album release. Wizkid has also mended the rift with Don Jazzy, praising the music producer as an amazing human being.
