Tyla Is Set to Perform at the 2024 BET Award Show
South African artiste, Tyla, has been announced as one of the performers at the 2024 BET Award show ceremony. This is Tyla’s debut performance at the award show. Tyla will perform alongside YG Marley, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Ice Spice, Victoria Monét Latto, Muni Long, Shaboozey, Sexy Red, and Tanner Adell. Aside from Tyla’s anticipated performance, she is also attending the event as a first-time nominee.
The artiste is nominated in the Best Female R&B/Pop Artiste, Best New Artiste, Viewer’s Choice, and Best International Act categories making her this year’s Africa’s most nominated artiste. Other African nominees include Nigeria’s Burna Boy, Tems, Ayra Starr, Asake, and Seyi Vibez as well as South Africa’s Tyler ICU, Focalistic, and Makhadzi. American rapper, Drake, leads the nominations list with seven nominations, followed by Nicki Minaj with six; J. Cole, Sexyy Red, SZA, Monét, and Beyoncé with five each. While Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Tyla, and Usher bagged four nominations each. This year’s award ceremony will be hosted by Taraji P. Henson. The ceremony will be held on June 30, 2024, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
