Tension As Wife Cuts Husband's Manhood

A woman, Habiba Ibrahim, has allegedly severed the manhood of her 40-year-old husband, Salisu Idris.

The motive behind her actions remains unknown. The incident occurred on May 26 in Zaria, Kaduna State, shortly after Idris returned from the mosque following early morning prayers. Habiba has since been arrested by the police.

Idris, a commercial motorcycle rider, recounted the ordeal, explaining that while he was lying on his bed, his wife suddenly attacked him with a sharp knife, nearly severing his manhood. He credited the timely intervention of a neighbor with preventing his wife from completely cutting it off. Idris, who married Habiba four years ago, expressed shock at her actions, noting there had been no prior disagreement.

Following the incident, Idris was rushed to General Hospital, Makarfi, and later referred to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Zaria for further medical treatment.

“I’m more concerned about my health right now and not thinking of remarrying anytime soon,” he stated.

Idris’ mother, Rabi Salisu, who is caring for him at the hospital, said he had never complained about his wife before. She added that Habiba’s parents are worried and are willing to cover his medical expenses.

Attempts to reach ASP Mansur Hassan, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Command, for comments were unsuccessful as his phone was not reachable.
