One of the most well-known Nigerian singers is Douglas Jack Agu, also known as Runtown. He has a diverse musical style that mixes together hip-hop, R&B, reggae and rap.
In 2008, Phyno and he partnered to form a record label called Penthauz where he released his first two singles: “Party Like It’s 1980” and “Activity Pikin“. In the years that followed, he worked on his music in relative obscurity before finally releasing a successful single: “Gallardo”in 2014. This song brought him a lot of attention, winning Best Collaboration honors that year.
Runtown released his debut album ‘Ghetto University’, which features Wizkid and DJ Khaled, in 2015. That same year he earned his first global hit with the 2016 song- ‘Mad Over You’ which reached the Top 40 of Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks chart.
