Ruger Admits: “I’m Not the Biggest Artiste in Nigeria, But I Have Talent”

Ruger, the well-known singer also known as Michael Adebayo Olayinka, has made a bold statement. He believes that out of the many musicians in the country, only a handful are truly talented. According to him, most artists are simply singing for fun or entertainment. In a recent interview with Cool FM, Lagos, Ruger emphasized that there are less than five artists who are genuinely talented and create meaningful music.

However, he did not disclose who these talented Nigerian artists are or where he places himself on the list.

“I’m not the biggest artiste in Nigeria but talent-wise, I’m standing somewhere there. We are not up to 5,” he said. “I want say where I am on the list but I’m there. It’s not up to five. Most people are just singing for cruise but we [the talented artists], we make music.”

Ruger said he was shocked to find out that he has a large following in Israel. He said he sold out a 7,000-capacity venue in the country.
