Rema’s hit song “Calm Down” has achieved another milestone on Spotify. The song has now surpassed 2 billion streams, making it the most-streamed song by an African artist on the platform.
Among its other achievements, “Calm Down” was the first Afrobeats single to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify, entered the Guinness World Records as the first-ever No. 1 song on the MENA chart, reached the highest peak (#3) for a Nigerian artiste on the Billboard Hot 100, and became the longest-charting song (over 52 weeks) by a Nigerian artiste on the chart.
These milestones place Rema among the top African artists. As he continues to release new songs like “Benin Boys“, it is predicted that he will break even more records.
