Outrage As Tanker Crushes Graduate To Death Just After Her Final Clearance

A heartbreaking tragedy struck Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, as Miss Ezekiel Mary Ogechi, a recent graduate, met her untimely demise on Tuesday when she was crushed by a speeding tanker outside the institution.

Ogechi, a diligent accounting graduate, had returned to the campus for academic clearance, eagerly anticipating her upcoming enrollment in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme. Little did she know that this routine visit would end in tragedy.

“After completing her clearance, she joyfully interacted with classmates, sharing her excitement about the imminent NYSC mobilization,” a source revealed.

Renowned for her academic prowess, Ogechi had excelled in accounting, earning distinction and garnering admiration within her department. She had even secured a scholarship for post-graduate studies from an organization.

Tragically, her promising future was abruptly cut short when she was struck by a tricycle while attempting to cross the road. Before she could recover, a speeding truck fatally collided with her.

“The shocking incident sparked outrage among students, prompting protests against the tragedy,” the source recounted. However, intervention from the management of Abia State Polytechnic and the Students Union Government helped quell the unrest.

Despite the gravity of the situation, no official statement had been issued by the Polytechnic at the time of this report, and attempts to reach the Abia State Police Command for comment were unsuccessful.

This unfortunate incident echoes a similar tragedy from last year when another individual lost his life in a similar accident involving a trailer.
