Meghan Markle has revealed that she is 43% Nigerian.
The Duchess of Sussex, revealed some insights on the latest episode of her podcast, Archetypes.
The Duchess of Sussex shared that she took a genealogy test and discovered she is 43% Nigerian. She talked with Issa Rae, Ziwe Fumudoh, and Emily Bernards about the results of the test.
“I had my ancestry traced a few years ago,” Meghan says, getting her guests’ attention as they eagerly ask.
The duchess is bragging that she’s 43% Nigerian to the shock of Ziwe. Ziwe says in disbelief, “That’s way too low!”.
“Are you serious? This is huge. Igbo, Yoruba, do we know?” Ziwe says. He’s Nigerian-American and quickly explains the significance of this news.
The Duchess of Sussex then tells her listeners: “I’m going to start to dig deeper into all of this because anyone that I’ve told, especially Nigerian women, are just like, what?”
After absorbing the bombshell revelation, Nigerian-American Ziwe continues to joke that the Duchess looks like “her aunt Ouzo” in a heart-warming clip between the pair.
