“I have never been in love” – Tems
Nigerian music star Temilade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems, recently shared her thoughts on love during an appearance on the “Flow With Korty” show. The 28-year-old singer revealed she has never experienced love in the traditional sense.
Tems challenged the common saying “love is blind,” arguing that true love is a conscious choice made with your eyes wide open.
“For me, loving someone is about seeing them for who they are, flaws and all, and still choosing them,” Tems explained. “It’s about saying, ‘I see you, and I still want you in my life.’”
She aspires to experience a deep and genuine love that goes beyond infatuation. “I think a lot of people confuse infatuation with love,” she said.
Tems emphasizes that true love involves embracing a person’s imperfections. “Love isn’t blindness,” she continued. “It’s seeing someone’s flaws and saying, ‘I still want that.’”
Tems desires a partner who sees her for who she is and chooses to be with her regardless.
