Drama As President Biden Calls Trump Convicted Felon, Issues Strong Warning

On Monday, Joe Biden sharply criticized Donald Trump, calling him a “convicted felon” seeking the US presidency for the first time in history,

This marked a significant escalation in his attacks on his rival ahead of November’s election.

Biden, 81, used this description for the first time since Trump was convicted by a New York jury for covering up hush money payments to a porn star in a historic verdict.

“Folks, the campaign entered uncharted territory,” Biden told donors in Connecticut. “For the first time in American history, a former president that is a convicted felon is now seeking the office of the presidency.”

Biden condemned Trump’s assaults on the US justice system, noting that the Republican former president’s unsupported allegations of a rigged case were even more dangerous.

“As disturbing as that is, more damaging is the all-out assault Donald Trump is making on the American system of justice,” Biden said.

The Democratic incumbent warned that Trump, whom he defeated in the 2020 election, would pose a greater threat if he won a second term.

“Something snapped in this guy for real” after 2020, Biden remarked. “It’s literally driving him crazy.”

Biden also criticized Trump for suggesting that his imprisonment could trigger a “breaking point” for his supporters, a statement that has raised concerns about potential political violence around the November 5 presidential election.

“He says if he loses, there will be a bloodbath in America. What kind of man is this?” Biden asked supporters.

Previously, Biden’s only comment on Trump’s verdict, made at the White House on Friday, was limited to asserting that no one was above the law, without explicitly calling Trump a felon.

The Democrat’s campaign has been cautious in leveraging Trump’s conviction, with some commentators advising Biden to maintain a presidential demeanor and focus on election policies instead.
