BREAKING: Uzodinma Wins Big, Beats PDP, LP In 20 LGAs (FULL RESULTS)
In the ongoing Imo State governorship election held on November 11, 2023, Governor Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured victories in 20 out of the 27 local governments, according to the results released so far.
The collation of results commenced at the State Collation Centre in Owerri, the state capital, at 02:30 am on Sunday. Prof Abayomi Fashina, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, served as the Returning Officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Although 18 parties participated in the election, analysts have highlighted the contest as a four-horse race primarily involving Governor Uzodimma (APC), Samuel Anyanwu (PDP), Athan Achonu of the Labour Party, and Jack Ogunewe representing the Action Alliance.
As of the latest report filed on Sunday morning, none of the other candidates has secured victories in any local government, and the collation of results is still underway.
According to INEC, the total registered voters in the state for this poll were 2,419,922, with 2,318,919 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collected.
The governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa also took place on the same day, and the collation of results from these states has been postponed to Sunday morning.
