Senate Chief Whip, Senator Ali Ndume, has reacted to reports of having issues with Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
He dismissed the reported conflict with Akpabio, asserting his seniority and ability to provide guidance on Senate matters.
In an appearance on Arise TV’s Morning Show on Friday, Ndume clarified, “I’m older than Akpabio and can advise him on issues of the Senate. I was the DG campaign of Akpabio, so by virtue of my position, I was his number one supporter and marketer to become the Senate President.”
He emphasized their ability to engage in disagreements without resorting to fights, underscoring their shared interests. The tension between Akpabio and Ndume escalated in October, resulting in a heated exchange on the Senate floor and Ndume’s temporary exit from the session.
Since then, some reports have alleged that Ndume and Akpabio are at dagger drawn with each other. While Akpabio has remained silent on the issue, Ndume on the other hand has consistently maintained that they have no personal problems and he was a senior to the Senate President which gives him the edge to advise him.
